Jam Packed Weekend

We had a very busy but fun weekend. On Friday, my Mom and I spent most of the day shopping for Wesley's birthday, grabbing lunch, and trying gelato from two new Italian cafes in West Jordan. Later that day we decided to take Wesley to go see Walle. It was SO cute. Wes loved it! Which is surprising because the content really isn't geared towards kids. And there wasn't much dialog, but you couldn't help but fall in love with Walle's cute personality. They also had to throw in some politics, but it was still a really cute movie. On Saturday I worked all day at a boutique in Draper for Modbe. It was located in a gorgeous house! It even had an indoor pool and a huge movie theater in the basement. These people had money. The sick thing about it was that they were only in their late 20's - early 30's. When I got home from the boutique, Rob suggested that we take the boys swimming since it was so hot. So, we headed over to the KOPFC for some family time in the pool before coming home and putting the kids to bed. I love Sundays after a busy weekend. We have church at 1pm, so it is nice to sit around and relax before getting ready and heading to church. It also allows me to catch up on our blog. I hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

Kangaroo Zoo

Last Friday we went to the Kangaroo Zoo for the first time. Wesley was invited to his friend Carter's birthday party. Wesley had so much fun! There were tons of bounce houses, obstacle courses, and slides. His favorite part was the batting cage one. Once he discovered it, he didn't want to do anything else. We had so much fun there that I convinced Rob to come with us on Monday for a family day of fun. They also a black light minature golf course which Wesley didn't discover until we went with Rob. After our first game, he didn't want to leave. He would cry hysterically if we tried to take him out. Wes had such a blast both days. It is definitely one of our new favorite places to go. It's a great place to go to keep out of the hot weather! I love the look on Wesley's face. He looks terrified, but I promise he was having fun. Here are some pictures of minature golfing. If you look closely in the pictures you can sort of see us.

Hogle Zoo Carousel

Last week we were invited to a member's only event at Hogle Zoo. They had a grand opening for their new carousel. When we got to the zoo it was crazy busy! We seriously had to park a mile away. We thought it was going to take all night to ride the carousel. But luckily the line didn't take too long and Wesley had so much fun. It was so fun to hear his little squeals and giggles while on the ride. It is such a joy to watch him so happy. The carousel had beautifully carved animals. Wesley got to ride a seal. After we rode the carousel, we went and saw some of our favorite animals. We topped the night off with yummy ice cream cones. It was a great family night out! Wesley waited so patiently for his turn. He even got to pet Snuggles the snake. I was shocked he actually wanted to.
I can't get enough of Beckett's smiles. He is such a sweetheart!

Happy Father's Day!

I just want to wish 3 very special men a Happy Father's Day! Rob, my Dad, and Rob's Dad are the three greatest dads I know. Rob is such a great dad to our two boys! I couldn't ask for a better partner to help raise them. I love to watch him play and interact with them. Wesley certainly looks up to him. I feel so blessed to have him in my life. Thanks for being you! My dad is such an example to me. We have always had such a special connection. His nickname for me is Dolly. He is spiritual, kind, and not to mention hilarious! He is such a great grandpa to all of his grandkids. He has made up a little song for most of the grandkids. They are pretty cute. Wesley's song is the Beatles "Doctor Roberts." Instead of singing Dr. Roberts, my Dad sings Wesley Robert. He has taught the song to Wes, and everytime they're together they have to sing it. Thanks for being the wonderful man you are Dad! I also wanted to wish Rob's Dad a Happy Father's Day. He is also an example to me. I know that Rob is the wonderful husband and father because of his Dad's example. I love to watch him and Wesley play in their backyard. He is a wonderful grandpa as well. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful men in my life! This is my favorite picture of Wesley and my Dad. I love Wesley's smile. My Dad had bought all the grandkids Beck shirts to wear on Thanksgiving.

This is Beckett and my Dad shortly after Beckett was born. My Dad was such a trooper and hung out at the hospital through both of my labors.

This is the only picture I could find of Alex and Wesley (Sad I know!). But I didn't want to leave him out. Wesley certainly adores both of his Grandpas. I'm sure Beckett does too!

Happy Anniversary!

June 11, 2004
I just wanted to wish my hubby a Happy Anniversary! We have been thrown a couple of trials in the past little while, and I just want him to know that I still love and appreciate all he does for me. No marriage is perfect. Everyone has their struggles. But I believe that the trials we are given are given to us for a reason. And when we get through them, we are stronger for it. These past 4 years have been the happiest years of my life! We have lived in two different cities and three different houses. We have brought two beautiful boys into this world in the past two years, after going through two really difficult misscarriages. Rob, you are such a wonderful husband and father! You don't give yourself enough credit. Thank you for working so hard in order for me to stay home and raise our boys. We are truly meant for each other! I couldn't have found a better half. We are so much a like in so many ways! We always seem to be thinking the same thing at the same exact time. And even though you embarrass me while you do it, you can always make me laugh! I am so grateful to be spending the rest of my life and forever with you! I love you! Happy Anniversary!

Bear Lake

This last weekend we went on yet another little road trip to Bear Lake. My whole family ended up going and we had a blast. The weather didn't quite cooperate and it rained almost the whole time, but it was so nice to just hang out and relax. We mainly sat around playing games, watching movies, and playing the wii. I think I played more video games this weekend than I have in the past couple of years. I was completely addicted to Mario Kart. If you haven't played it yet, I highly recommend it! Saturday was the first sunny day that we had, and so my Mom wanted to take the kids down to the water to "put their feet" in. When they got down there, all the kids (including Wesley) dove right in. In Wesley's case, head first. He was pretty upset after that. The rest of the kids had fun in the freezing cold water. On Saturday, we also had to go get a shake from La Beau's. A Bear Lake must! This weekend definitely gave Rob and I the little boost we needed. It was a great weekend!

Hooray!!! I finally figured out how to create and edit my own blog template! What do you think? It is just a rough draft. Hopefully I can create something more glamorous in the next couple of days!

Pizza, swimming, and no zzz's

This weekend we went on a tiny road trip up to Park City to stay in my parent's condo. We had some quality family fun time. We went up on Friday night and went and got pizza for dinner. Then we took Wes swimming at the condo. Well, actually Rob took Wes swimming while I sat in the hot tub. The pool was way too cold for me. That night Wes must have been to hyper because it took him until after 11 pm to fall asleep. He kept whining to watch tv. We finally let him, hoping that it would put him to sleep. It took over an hour, but he finally zonked out. The next morning Wes woke us up at 5:30 in the morning! He was a ball of energy! I don't think we have ever seen him so hyper so early in the morning. Rob and I were SO tired but we couldn't go back to sleep with Wes squeeling and tickling us every five seconds. We spent most of Saturday morning/afternoon shopping at the outlets. Then we headed home so we could make it to my nephew Brady's birthday/graduation party. It was an exhausting weekend, but we had a lot of fun!
