An EXTREMELY White Christmas!

Warning: This may be a LONG post!!!
I was really hoping for a white Christmas this year, and my wish came true! A little too true. We knew that we were getting a huge storm on Christmas...it was all the weathermen could talk about for days up until Christmas. We just didn't know that West Jordan was going to get most of it! Rob and I didn't sleep to well the night before Christmas. The wind was blowing like crazy ALL night long. We woke up on Christmas morning to almost 6 inches of snow. When we drove to my parents house about 15 miles away...there was almost nothing! I couldn't believe it. And it barely snowed there throughout the day. When we finally packed up all of our goods and headed home, it was snowing again. It was quite a trek home through the snow, but we made it home safely none the less! Then this morning we woke up to another ten inches or so! We could believe our eyes! We watched the news this morning and throughout the Salt Lake valley, most of the snow totals were 4-6 inches. West Jordan...16 inches!!! Rob has been shoveling his little heart out for the past hour or so. It's times like these that we wished we would have invested in a snow blower for Christmas. Although it is a lot of snow...I LOVE IT! Our street looks so beautiful! And I can't wait to go out and play in it with Wesley this next week.
We definitely had a wonderful Christmas this year and our celebrations aren't over yet! Christmas is being stretched for two days this year. Rob's poor Mom got the stomach flu on Christmas Eve, and to be on the safe side, wanted to wait an extra day before having the kids over to make sure it was just a 24 hour bug. We started out festivities on Christmas Eve at my Grandparent's house. This tradition has been going on for a very long time...and I will be very sad when it comes to an end. We have a delicious pot luck dinner, followed by opening up presents. Every other year or so we play the "beloved" chimes, but sadly this was not the year. My grandparents are so generous for hosting the chaos every year, and we love them dearly!

Christmas morning we opened up presents from Santa. This year Wesley caught on a little bit about how Christmas worked, but still wasn't too interested in the "opening up" part of the presents. But once we broke out the toys from the boxes, he was in heaven. Beckett didn't quite getting opening them up either, I thought he would be more interested in the wrapping, but he loved the toys once they were out of the paper. He was quite cute the whole day! From Santa, Wesley got some Geotrax train sets, baseball bat and ball, magnet board for church, and tons of candy and gum. Beckett got a cute electronic nursery rhyme book, Shape sorter, books, and some clothes.
After we opened up all the presents at home, we headed to my parents for more present opening and a yummy Christmas brunch! My parents are so generous, and spoil us every single year! We got toys, toys, and more toys, shoes, clothes, gift cards galore, and more toys. My grandparents joined us for brunch and present opening. We love when they come. My grandpa always makes it a point to let us know that we are spoiled and humbles us by sharing a story about his Christmas' during the depression. We spent the rest of the day at my parents playing with our toys and relaxing. We love spending the day with our families and we wouldn't have it any other way! We just wished we could have visited with Rob's family, but we will get the chance today! We hope all of you had a very safe and happy holiday!!!

Winter Wonderland

It has been snowing off and on all week in Utah, and I have LOVED it! I know most people don't like it when it snows, but I have been anxiously awaiting it! Snow came later this year than most and I think that was the reason it took me so long to get into the Christmas spirit. Since there was quite a bit of snow on the ground, Rob decided to take Wesley sledding for his first time on Saturday. Wesley had SO much fun! He was a little hesitant at first, but after the first couple of times, he didn't want to stop. Tyson and Kendra also went and Rob said they all had a great time. I am so bummed I missed it. I was going to go, but Beckett was napping so I opted to be the one to stay home. There is supposed to be another storm on Monday, so I'm pretty sure we'll have a white Christmas! Here are some fun pictures from yesterday:
Here's Wes showing me his boots. He is quite obsessed with them and wears them almost everyday, all around the house.
He's also obsessed with gloves and I usually put them on him about 50 times a day. Kendra and Wesley ready to go!

9 MoNtHs!!!

Yesterday our Wee Man turned 9 months old! I can hardly believe how fast his first year is flying by. He is growing up so fast! He just started crawling a couple of weeks ago, but he now thinks he is a big boy and pulls himself up on everything. Here are 9 fun facts about our little Beckett Man:

1. Beckett LOVES music! Anytime he hears any sort of beat, he starts dancing. It's the cutest thing ever!

2. He is a Momma's Boy. Although he gets super excited when Rob walks in the door, after he says hello to his Daddy...it's right back to Mom he goes.

3. He still loves to be held. I thought that he wouldn't be as needy once he started crawling, but I was WRONG! He now follows me from room to room crying until I pick him up.

4. Beckett is finally a great sleeper! It only took until he was 6 1/2 months old, but he sleeps 10-12 hours every night. Plus two 2+ hour naps during the day.

5. Beckett loves his big brother. I think that is why Beckett has picked up crawling so fast. He always stares at Wesley with such amazement. I know he is thinking "Man, I wish I could run and jump like Wesley!" Beckett smiles and laughs at anything Wesley does. I hope they will stay really close throughout their lives.

6. Beckett is super smiley. Anytime anyone talks or smiles at Beckett, he replies with a huge grin. It is the cutest grin I have ever seen. It is quite contagious.

7. Beckett is a huge eater! That kid could eat every day, all day long! He isn't picky either. He'll eat almost anything. I am really praying that it never changes.

8. Beckett knows what he wants and when he wants it. Just recently Beckett has started to throw mini tantrums if I don't give him what he wants, when he wants it! He loves my cell phone and if I don't give it to him, or take it away he gets really upset and screams. I know the tantrums will get worse as he gets older.

9. Beckett loves water! Especially bath time. Anytime Beckett hears the bath water running, he gets super excited. And if we don't start getting him undressed immediately...he throws an absolute tantrum. It's pretty funny!
Beckett's 9 month Stats
Weight- 18 lbs 8 oz - 18%
Height- 28 in - 47 %
Head- 18in - 86%

We honestly can't imagine our lives without our Beckett man. I can't believe in three short months we will be celebrating his first birthday. He brings so much joy and happiness to our lives!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

My sweet, selfless, caring husband stood in line for 4 hours early this morning...in the freezing cold...ON HIS DAY OFF...to get us tickets to Wicked. We have been wanting to see this musical for quite some time. We tried getting tickets during Zions Bank presale, but we weren't so lucky. I really appreciate Rob for being such a trooper this morning. I am way excited and can hardly wait until April. Thanks again Babe!!!

Zoo Lights!

On Friday night, Rob and I decided to take the boys to Zoo Lights. W
e had really wanted to go last year but never found the time. We bought a membership to the zoo this year and decided it was a MUST to see the lights this year! And I must say that the lights were SPECTACULAR!!! It might be bad to say this... but they totally beat Temple Square hands down! They didn't just have trees decorated with lights, but they had cute animated animals that the kids loved. We didn't stay to long, it was a chilly night and I think both the boys were pretty cold not long after we got there. But we did stay long enough to see most of the lights, drink yummy caramel hot chocolate, and eat a deep fried smore. Overall it was a really fun night. If you haven't been to Zoo Lights, we highly recommend it! Your kids will love it!

My little man is MoBiLe!!!

That's right...Beckett is officially crawling! He isn't very fast, but he is definitely mobile. It is so crazy to me how fast he is growing up! He just learned to completely sit up a little over a month ago and now he is crawling. He also pulls himself up in his crib. I think it is definitely time to pull out the baby gates and baby proof the house again!

Here is another cute video of Wesley and Beckett. Beckett is definitely Wesley's BIGGEST fan. Wesley can get Beckett laughing harder than anyone else can. I sure hope that these boys are really close as they grow older.
