Swimming with Carter

This past Tuesday, Wesley and I had planned to go to Cherry Hill with our friends Jessica and Carter. I had arranged for my Mom to watch Beckett so Wes and I could have some one on one time. We were really excited to go. When we got there it was closed. We didn't even realize that it might be closed since kids are back in school. Silly us. We called around to a couple of other outdoor pools, but same story...they were closed. We finally tried Layton's Surf and Swim, and luckily it was open. And there was hardly anyone there. We had such a great time! The boys played great together while Jess and I chatted. Wesley LOVES swimming! I feel bad because we haven't gone very often this summer. Wesley would swim every day if I let him. We call him our little fish. When Wes was a baby, Rob had a dream that he was at a swim meet and Wes was competing. After watching Michael Phelps swim in Beijing, we are hoping that Rob's dream comes true. How cool would that be?

Now be honest...

I need everyone's honest opinion. We have been doing some projects around the house, mainly involving painting. A couple of my friends have been doing some remodeling and painting and I finally got up the motivation to do a couple of facelifts on our house. When we bought our house almost two years ago, we did some MAJOR remodeling. We redid the floors, kitchen, and repainted the whole main level. I swore that I never wanted to paint AGAIN! Well...two years later and here I am painting again. We didn't touch our basement when we bought the house because we didn't think we would use it very often. But we bought couches and a new tv a year ago and just recently moved our office downstairs to make room for Beckett. We practically live downstairs now. So I decided that it needed some color and decor. I just recently went and saw one of my good friends new house in Daybreak. It is gorgeous! Not to mention Maren has the best taste when it comes to decorating. This gave me the extra boost I needed. I feel like I'm not the best when it comes to decorating, but I felt like I could make some improvements on our house. I went and picked out some new paint colors and began painting. I decided that I wanted to do a bright fun accent wall in our basement and do the other walls a light brown color. I really loved the wall once it was painted. I then remembered something Maren had mentioned on her blog: Ikea's slogan "Be brave not beige." I decided that I was going to be brave and paint the rest of the walls the Carribean Green color I had picked out. I haven't painted the whole family room yet, so I decided to get your opinion. Do you think it's too bold, or do you like it? We are going to get a few new furniture pieces. And down the road a little bit we will replace the blinds and carpet. So...what do you think? If you don't like it, I want you to honestly tell me.The lighting isn't the greatest, but you get the idea.

Fun in the Sun

This past weekend we had a lot of fun in the sun. On Friday night we went up Parley's canyon to attend Rob's summer work party. They had tons of games and activities for everyone, we had a delicious catered BBQ, and they gave away tons of cool prizes. Here's Rob competing in the tug of war competition. His team took first place!
Their prize was a nice Maglite Flashlight. After the party, we headed up to Bear Lake for the rest of the weekend. My cousin Kristen (who lives in Seattle) was there with her family. It was fun spending time with them. Although it was a cooler weekend, I think the highest it got was about 78, the water felt great! We spent the weekend boating and playing in the lake.

I wasn't the best at taking pictures this weekend. I failed to get pictures of any one other than my kids. OOPS!

Corporate Summer Games

This past weekend Rob participated in the Corporate Summer Games for his work in Doubles Tennis. The kids and I decided that we would go and support him. Before his match we met Rob's parents at Robintinos for dinner. Although it was extremely hot, we still had a great time. Wesley loved being outside and Grandpa and Grandma kept him very entertained with a couple of tennis balls. Rob and his partner didn't do so hot, but I think they had fun. Isn't that the point?

The photos aren't too great. I forgot our camera, so I had to use my cell phone.

Cute Videos

At times, Wesley can be a nice big brother to Beckett. Beckett absolutely adores his older brother. Anytime Wesley comes into the room, Beckett gives him the biggest grin. Everytime Wesley does patty cake for Beckett, he is all grins!

I had to post this video as well. The other day in the car, this is what I heard. Wesley has been able to count to ten for quite some time, but usually he would alternate numbers with me. This was the first time he counted to ten all by himself! He surprises me every day!
