It took FOREVER...but it's finally finished!!

After living in our house for almost a year and a half, our guest bathroom is finally finished! I can't believe we have been such slackers! Well, actually...I can. After spending the two and a half weeks painting most of our house before we moved in, I didn't want to look at a can of paint or a paint brush EVER again! But, there were projects that I really wanted finished before baby #2 came and this was one of them. I am actually really proud of Rob and I. We had about 8 or 9 things on a "Things to do before the baby comes" list and we have completed all but one of them. Hopefully we can finish the last one this weekend. We spent this last Saturday painting all of the baseboards and door frames on our main level (which has needed to be done since we moved in), and painted the final coats in the bathroom. I have been so sore the past few days from kneeling, bending, and standing! But it feels so good to get these projects out of the way. I made a new list the other day for things I want to get done before the new baby's blessing. I'm sure Rob will be thrilled! Here are a couple of pictures of the finished product:

Modbe Swim Open House

For those of you who don't already know, I am kicking off Modbe's '08 Swim with an open house. It will be held this Wednesday night, the 27th from 5pm -9pm at my house. I will have new '08 suits to try on, along with True Rise Jeans and some of the fall items that are still available. With the baby coming soon, I don't know how many parties I will be doing this Spring, so now would be a great time to come check out the new suits! Feel free to bring friends, family, kids etc! Also, if you purchase 3 items or more, you will receive 10% off your order! If you want to come but don't have my address, post a comment with your e-mail address and I will send you directions. I hope to see you there!!!

To be or not to be checked?

I have a dilemma. When I reach the end of my pregnancies, I get really anxious to know if I am dilating or not. I had my 36 week appointment today and my doctor decided to check me while he did the strep B test. Well, I'm dilated to 1 cm, and I am 50% effaced. Yeah! I thought. But in all actuality, that doesn't mean anything. I could go to the rest of my appointments and stay exactly the same. With Wesley, I didn't get checked until my 37th week and I was at 1.5 and 70% effaced. The next week, I was almost a 2 and 80%. I was extremely bummed! I thought for sure I would have progressed more. Luckily with Wes, I went into labor after that appointment and he was born two weeks early. Wesley definitely set the bar high. I would love to have this baby early, but who knows if I will. So the question is...to be or not to be checked? Sometimes dilating early means nothing at all. So...do I get checked and become anxious because there was a change? Or do I just let nature take it's course and be surprised? Who knows!

A much needed break...

Last weekend, Rob and I took a much needed break down to California. My parents were kind enough to watch Wesley for us. I definitely needed some relaxation time away from Wesley before our new little guy is born. He has been driving me up the wall lately! He doesn't quite understand that we are having another baby, but I swear he senses it because he has turned into a needy mama's boy the past month or so. It was also nice to have some one-on-one time with Rob, especially since he has started school and we rarely get to spend anytime by ourselves. We had such a great time! We spent three whole days sleeping, going to the beach, eating delicious food, walking all over Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, eating more delicious food, and even squeezed in a movie. We couldn't have asked for better weather. It was in the mid to upper 70's the whole time. The only downside to the warm weather was that I started retaining water. It was one of the most inexpensive trips we have ever been on. Thanks to Rob's family who lives in Cali and gave us a place to stay and a car to drive for free. Here are a couple of pictures from our trip: Here is a picture of strikers outside NBC studios. This was taken two days before they came to an agreement for the writers strike. This only shows about 1/8 of the amount of strikers that were out. Eating at In-n-out was a must! I love their burgers! I wish we would have eaten there everyday! These two pictures were taken at Santa Monica beach. I have major spring fever now!
I just want to thank my wonderful husband for such a relaxing trip. You're the best! I love you!

Baby Name Poll

This is just for fun, but I want everyone's opinion on a name for our new little guy. Rob and I have finally narrowed it down to three...I think. We aren't going to pick a final name until he is born, but I am curious to know what other people think of our names. My family likes all three and Rob's family isn't too keen on any of them, but they only like traditional names. Our top three are: Beckett, McKay, and Maddox. His middle name will be Joshua, no matter what name we decide on. We like Beckett because Beck is my maiden name and I thought it would be neat to include that in one of our boys names. And McKay and Maddox are names that we've heard and really like. So...let us know which one is your favorite.

Bouncing around...

On Friday, my friend Maren invited us to join them for open play at Backyard Adventures. It was a lot of fun. Wesley was a little afraid of the slides at the beginning, but by the end was having a blast. His favorite part was the bounce room.
