An EXTREMELY White Christmas!

Warning: This may be a LONG post!!!
I was really hoping for a white Christmas this year, and my wish came true! A little too true. We knew that we were getting a huge storm on Christmas...it was all the weathermen could talk about for days up until Christmas. We just didn't know that West Jordan was going to get most of it! Rob and I didn't sleep to well the night before Christmas. The wind was blowing like crazy ALL night long. We woke up on Christmas morning to almost 6 inches of snow. When we drove to my parents house about 15 miles away...there was almost nothing! I couldn't believe it. And it barely snowed there throughout the day. When we finally packed up all of our goods and headed home, it was snowing again. It was quite a trek home through the snow, but we made it home safely none the less! Then this morning we woke up to another ten inches or so! We could believe our eyes! We watched the news this morning and throughout the Salt Lake valley, most of the snow totals were 4-6 inches. West Jordan...16 inches!!! Rob has been shoveling his little heart out for the past hour or so. It's times like these that we wished we would have invested in a snow blower for Christmas. Although it is a lot of snow...I LOVE IT! Our street looks so beautiful! And I can't wait to go out and play in it with Wesley this next week.
We definitely had a wonderful Christmas this year and our celebrations aren't over yet! Christmas is being stretched for two days this year. Rob's poor Mom got the stomach flu on Christmas Eve, and to be on the safe side, wanted to wait an extra day before having the kids over to make sure it was just a 24 hour bug. We started out festivities on Christmas Eve at my Grandparent's house. This tradition has been going on for a very long time...and I will be very sad when it comes to an end. We have a delicious pot luck dinner, followed by opening up presents. Every other year or so we play the "beloved" chimes, but sadly this was not the year. My grandparents are so generous for hosting the chaos every year, and we love them dearly!

Christmas morning we opened up presents from Santa. This year Wesley caught on a little bit about how Christmas worked, but still wasn't too interested in the "opening up" part of the presents. But once we broke out the toys from the boxes, he was in heaven. Beckett didn't quite getting opening them up either, I thought he would be more interested in the wrapping, but he loved the toys once they were out of the paper. He was quite cute the whole day! From Santa, Wesley got some Geotrax train sets, baseball bat and ball, magnet board for church, and tons of candy and gum. Beckett got a cute electronic nursery rhyme book, Shape sorter, books, and some clothes.
After we opened up all the presents at home, we headed to my parents for more present opening and a yummy Christmas brunch! My parents are so generous, and spoil us every single year! We got toys, toys, and more toys, shoes, clothes, gift cards galore, and more toys. My grandparents joined us for brunch and present opening. We love when they come. My grandpa always makes it a point to let us know that we are spoiled and humbles us by sharing a story about his Christmas' during the depression. We spent the rest of the day at my parents playing with our toys and relaxing. We love spending the day with our families and we wouldn't have it any other way! We just wished we could have visited with Rob's family, but we will get the chance today! We hope all of you had a very safe and happy holiday!!!

*Brace yourself for thousands of pictures!!!

Yay for snow...too bad we didn't get anymore down here in St. George. Oh well, we did get to play in it a little bit while we were in Manti. Sounds like you guys had tons of fun for Christmas. I think next year both of our boys will be old enough to understand the whole "Santa" part a lot better and then we'll be in big trouble....so not looking forward to waking up before 6:00! just kidding it will still be fun! Your kids are so cute.
